NFHS/NFHS Network Signs Agreement with TPG to Manage Sponsorship and Multimedia Rights
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (August 25, 2020) —The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the NFHS Network have signed a multi-year agreement with Teall Properties Group (TPG), a multimedia and marketing management company for high school state associations, national organizations and events, to make it the “Official Sponsorship and Multimedia Agent” of the NFHS and NFHS Network.
The NFHS is the national leader and advocate for high school athletics and performing arts programs, and the NFHS Network is the leader in streaming live and on-demand high school sports and other events.
As part of the agreement, TPG will manage and sell all strategic business partnerships, sponsorships, multimedia rights and digital commercial inventory for all NFHS activities and events as well as NFHS Network digital broadcasts.
“The NFHS is excited to be united with TPG,” said Dr. Karissa Niehoff, NFHS executive director. “TPG has a proven track record with many of our state associations, and its leadership team had great success at the college level. The NFHS strives to provide leadership for our state associations, 19,500 high schools and more than 12 million participants in high school activities. With its experience in the high school market, TPG understands our mission and will be on the same page from the start. We look forward to working with the TPG team.”
Mike McClure was tabbed by TPG and the NFHS to serve as Vice President of TPG and General Manager for NFHS and NFHS Network Properties partnership. McClure boasts more than 25 years of senior-level executive experience in sports media and sponsorship sales. In his career, McClure has worked with Comcast Spotlight/EffecTV as Sports Sales Manager, ISP Sports/IMG College as Florida State University’s General Manager and Vice President of National Sales, and Pacers Sports and Entertainment as Vice President of Sponsorship Sales.
The present advertising and sponsorship opportunities of the NFHS include assets such as the NFHS Summer Meeting, NFHS Winter Meeting, National High School Hall of Fame, NFHS Learning Center and National Student Leadership Summit (NSLS), among others. Additionally, TPG will seek opportunities for elements in the areas of communications, digital and print that include – but are not limited to – use of NFHS marks, NFHS emails, media webinars, promotional campaigns, publications, social media and websites.
The NFHS Network covers more than 30 different regular-season and postseason sports and activities. Launched in August 2013, the Network is a joint venture between the NFHS, its member state associations and PlayON! Sports. With 45 NFHS member states signed to contracts, most fans from coast to coast can stream NFHS Network events on any device in any location.
Access to streaming those events became even easier in July when the Network offered schools two free Pixellot automated-production units through its “High School Support Program.” There are currently more than 5,000 Pixellot units in high schools across the country that will produce in excess of 300,000 live games this upcoming school year with no human involvement.
Through its agreements with state high school associations, TPG has generated millions of dollars for high schools across the United States. As part of the agreement with the NFHS and the NFHS Network, TPG will oversee the existing 46 sponsorship agreements of the NFHS and NFHS Network.
“We are honored to partner with the NFHS and the NFHS Network,” said TPG CEO Mike Wolfert. “TPG believes in the high school student-athlete experience and how it positively shapes our next generation. Our mission is to support this cause by connecting high school state associations and national organizations to brands that share in this belief. Karissa and her team have been instrumental in developing our future leaders and we are excited to support them in this endeavor.”
